birstall st james church.jpg

Once again after a very successful show in 2019 Birstall scouts and st James Birstall parish church are putting on a last night of the proms show to raise funding for the church and the scouts’ activities.

The Proms, formally named the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London. The Proms, which began in 1895, are now organised and broadcast by the BBC.

This new local version of the Proms follows the spirit of the original, and this year’s show will include performances by Local groups such as the Bilton silver rugby band, The heart of England barber shop choir, The Leicestershire and Rutland pipe band and plenty more groups who are to be confirmed. The show will be a spectacular performance with fantastic songs from all over the UK and plenty of flag waving.

The performance will be on the 24th of September at 7.00pm with doors opening at 6.30pm. Tickets will be £10 per head on the door or you can get them in advance for £8 per person or £20 for a family of 4 (2 Adults  and 2 children under 12. )

To book tickets for the performance you can call one of these 2 numbers - 0116 2674031
07842336745. They will also be available from the scout hut on weekday evenings except Thursdays or from the st James church office.
